Chair/Adaptive Yoga

Thursdays at 6pm CT

Do you feel too uncomfortable in your body to practice yoga? Do you feel like yoga is not for you? Do
you wish to find peace and calm in the midst of chaos? Then come try a chair/adaptive yoga class to
meet you just where you are and give you the tools to fight the stressors and anxieties of every day life.
Most chair/adaptive yoga classes use a chair, but we also work on balance and strength with standing
poses using the floor or a wall. Expect to cultivate strength as well as a stretch in this chair/adaptive
yoga class. Bring a chair (without wheels) to class or simply sit on the edge of a bed or couch, or even a
pillow or blanket on the ground. A yoga mat, blocks, and a strap can be useful if you have them, but they
are not required.

You will receive the Zoom meeting link via email when you sign up for the class! Donations can be made
directly to your teacher via Venmo/Paypal at the start of class.

About the Teacher:

Coleen has been practicing Hatha "land" yoga for 19 years (with roots in Anusara), AcroYoga for

13 years, and Aqua Yoga for 8 years. She completed an Anusara Immersion in 2012, a 200 hour

Yoga Teacher Training program in 2019, and a 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2020.

She has also completed Level 1 (2018) and Level 2 (2019) Aqua Yoga certification. Coleen has

been teaching Aqua Yoga classes in her apartment pool in Central Austin for the last five years.

She also teaches Chair Yoga classes on Zoom for the last 1.5 years, primarily with

YogaSpecialists. She has also taught community gentle "land" yoga classes in the park as well as

on Zoom for incoming freshmen students at Huston-Tillotson University, as well as Restorative

and Vinyasa classes with YogaSpecialists. She is most exited to share new techniques for

breathing and sequencing, and looks forward to offering Chair and Aqua Yoga classes to make

yoga more accessible to those with physical limitations.
