Benefits of Restorative Yoga: The Healing Journey
In this 60-minute workshop, we will learn about the physical, metaphysical, and emotional benefits of long-held, deeply-supported poses in a Restorative Yoga practice. We will learn about different healing modalities where Restorative Yoga is commonly used, and cover the benefits of the practice for different demographics such as pregnant individuals, those living with mental illness and psychological injury, individuals recovering from trauma, aging populations, and more.
This workshop will center around what it means to have a trauma-informed approach to Restorative Yoga, and how to create a safe space not only for your students, but for yourself in your own personal practice. We will explore how Restorative Yoga can be extremely helpful on the journey to healing, particularly when combined with other self-care and healing practices and modalities.
Workshop host, Amanda Ebert, is awaiting her RYT-200 teaching certification, with special certifications in Restorative Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga. She has taught Restorative Yoga classes and workshops for Yoga Specialists, independently, and for a mental health advocacy organization called Above the Stigma.
She has been practicing yoga since 2014, and began practicing Restorative Yoga in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy. Amanda is devoted to studying the nervous system, clinical applications of Restorative yoga, and helping people along their way to healing and self-discovery.
